Our G'milut Chasadim (Acts of Loving-Kindness) Committee is chaired by Melinda Rosenthal. Those serving on this committee will be involved in organizing or helping to provide care and comfort for congregation members in times of need (hospitalizations and illnesses, times of bereavement, births, and so forth). Committee members make phone calls, visit the hospital, write notes, attend and/or lead shivah minyans, etc.
Some activities require training, which Rabbi Finley and others will provide. If you would like to serve on the G'milut Chasadim Committee or would like more information, please contact Melinda Rosenthal at melinda@ohrhatorah.org.
"G’milut Chassadim translates as ‘acts of loving kindness.’
An important aspect of this committee is our relationship between our members, as well as the surrounding community. Our outreach is to help those in need of physical, emotional or spiritual support.
In times of distress and despair we are here to make contact and respond. This may include a visit with someone ill or in the hospital; supporting family members dealing with grief and loss. Our members are often present at requested funerals and shivas. We bring food and comfort wherever we are needed.
We hope to serve as a link between the temple’s leadership and the needs of our members.
